Motherwell’s Granada (P86) is exhibited in January in the exhibition Black or White: Paintings by European and American Artists at the Kootz Gallery. The exhibition features works in black and white by artists including Picasso, Braque, Dubuffet, Mondrian, and Miró, along with the Americans, Baziotes, Bultman, de Kooning, Gottlieb, Hofmann, Kees, Tobey, and Tomlin. Motherwell writes the catalogue essay. He meets Franz Kline during the exhibition.
